Rebecca's massage is clinical to remove pain, lengthen muscles and reduce joint restrictions and as such, prevents injuries.
It is also a very healing massage because it assures the energy is flowing better throughout the whole body from the assessment and use of acupressure points (and meridians) associated with the muscles found to be tight, to ensure their function/flow.
Rebecca has a firm healing touch and uses 3 main techniques to resolve issues and achieve muscle relaxation. If those don't work, she reaches in her vast tool bag and uses something else... perhaps another technique or perhaps the knowledge that this situation requires another muscle group to be released before this one will, or perhaps that this is a stored emotion.
Rebecca's knowledge of anatomy and kinesiology combined with excellent palpatory skills and the use of techniques of strain-counterstrain, muscle energy techniques, active release therapy and acupressure, are applied throughout the massage after deep petrissage, to achieve releases.
Rebecca gains knowledge of your body during your massage and if you desire, she can advise you on personally tailored Self-Maintenance Activities.
--Exercises that will affect the muscle imbalances found
--Stretches to maintain the benefits of the massage
--Self Releases can be demonstrated to you and time allowed for you to practice for difficult muscles like the psoas
--Emotional inquiry based on the acupressure meridians found blocked in your body

Testimonials
Rebecca is the absolute best! My doctor recommended I get a deep tissue massage for a torn rotator cuff in my shoulder. I've been going back ever since. In my business I have to be flexible and her bimonthly massages REALLY help.
I'm certainly a repeat customer.
Highly recommend her if your looking for the BEST!

I had a motorcycle accident that twisted my foot around backwards. Rebecca has alleviated my pain and her work keeps my hips balanced so I can do the activities I love and not be in pain. She's great. She releases a lot of stuff.
Frank Linnebrink, Corral de Tierra
Rebecca's massage has helped me both physically and emotionally. I am no longer in pain and feel more balanced. I look forward to my regular onthly appointments and when I skip one, I really notice and miss it.

Why is regular massage needed?
Modern life has stresses and sedentary habits that are not good for bodies. When muscles get tight and are left that way, they shorten and pull on the tendons that cross the joint, literally squeezing the joint space closed, eventually causing the cartilage lining to rub away and leave us with "bone-on-bone."
Clinical Massage loosens the muscles and fascia to restore muscle length.
Healing massage is needed to connect us to the stillness that allows release of stresses in general and to release the emotional stress that gets caught in our tissues from how we treat ourselves in our hectic lives.
Why doesn't complete healing always happen in one massage session?
It didn't take 90 min. to put all that tension in! Your nerves are fired up!
We loosen the muscles then your environment triggers the old nerve firing pattern and muscle tension. The nervous system needs time to create new pathways and for those connections to get strong in order to hold up to the old triggers. Also, it takes time to build a trusting relationship with your therapist so you can fully relax and release.
What is the best timing between sessions?
Consistent timing every 2-6 weeks, depending on your stress level and other self care you engage.
I've noticed the nervous system maintains change best when the tune ups are consistently spaced. Make a choice and let that be your timing commitment.
How do I "self maintain"?
Become Aware of what you are doing or thinking when your body is going back to its old posture. Choose to do the activity or to think differently.
Do the exercises, stretches, affirmations, or activities tailored for you in a Maintenance Activities Session.
How does healing happen?
Your body has a blueprint for its healthy self deep within you, that it remembers. Deep stillness and relaxation returns you to that healed state. Massage can help attain that state. Rest, staying in a relaxed state and in the present, and obtaining good nutrition all support healing. Healing is your own mix of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual awareness of meeting your needs.
